If you love the simplicity of the Super Starter Budget or the Super Basic Budget, but just need a little more out of your Excel budget template, the Super Deluxe Budget may be perfect for you. The Deluxe is our premium Excel budget template, loaded with all kinds of features to help you get the most out of your budget. We took the most frequently requested customizations off our Basic budget, and packed them into this little powerhouse of a budget spreadsheet. The Super Deluxe Budget has a ton of features, but is just as easy to use as the Basic.
Select your starting month and year. Your budget template will be tracked for 12 months starting with this date. By default your currency is in dollar, but you can choose a different currency symbol if you’d like. There are three different sections to set up, Earners, Accounts, and Categories. Use the PLUS, MINUS, UP and DOWN buttons for each section to add, remove, and rearrange rows as necessary.
You can decide if you want to track different income earners. By using the earners section, you’ll be able to see how much money each earner is bringing in. You can also decide if you want to track accounts. If you use the account section, you’ll be able to track the monthly balances for each account. This Excel budget template allows you to budget by subcategory, in addition to category. Enter up to 20 categories, and up to 20 subcategories each. Then, enter your monthly budgets. If you want, you can enter different budget amounts for each month, in the month budget sheet.
Income, Expenses, and Transfers
Log your income earned on the Income sheet. There are two income tables, one for irregular income and another for regular income. If you receive a regular paycheck or other recurring income, enter it in the regular income table. Enter all your other earnings on the irregular income table. Log your spending on the Expenses sheet. Any recurring expenses go on the regular expenses table, and everything else goes on the irregular table. If you are using the accounts section, you will also see a Transfers sheet. Log your movements between accounts on the irregular and regular transfers tables.
The Month Detail sheet gives you a snapshot of your income, budget spending, and actual spending for the month. If you’re tracking earners, you’ll see a breakdown of regular and irregular income for each earner. If you’re tracking accounts, you’ll see starting and ending balances by account. Towards the bottom, you will see a breakdown of budget and actual spending for each category and subcategory. Next to the numbers, you’ll see three charts – a budget spending pie chart, an actual spending pie chart, and a budget vs actual spending bar chart. Check out other months by clicking on the month buttons at the top of the screen.
The Super Deluxe Budget Excel budget template provides an Annual Summary sheet for you to understand your spending patterns on a monthly basis. This sheet provides all the numerical data from the Month Detail tab, and summarizes it nicely so you can compare each month. Review the summary to see how your spending fluctuates month by month, and if there are any areas where you are consistently overspending. Then, adjust your spending and/or budgets as necessary to help you meet your savings goals!
