Great worksheet that I have been using for the past year. Extremely easy to use even if you are not an excel wiz.

Our household has been using Super Deluxe Budget (SDB) for years to track our living expenses.

We’ve come to rely on knowing where are income is spent.

So, too, has our accountant. She welcomes our financial data in the SDB Xls format every tax time.

We wholeheartedly recommend and urge all to invest in the nominal cost of whichever Savvy Spreadsheet you need because it will surely help you manage your financial lifestyle!

    :

This spreadsheet is awesome! After trying different budgeting apps and websites I went back to my original way of doing my family’s budgeting that is to do it on a planner but the problem is that it is hard to have an overview by the end of the year so I decided to search around and found this spreadsheet. This spreadsheet gives you a monthly detail as well as an annual summary so you can keep better track of your expenses and goals. Also it is really easy to use and really well organized. Janet was always very helpful when I had questions about it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

    :

I can’t say enough good things about this template! I have used it for a whole year now and it’s absolutely phenomenal. It has exactly the level of detail I need, and all I need to do is add my expenses. This template makes it SO easy to track my spending, compare from month to month, and keep myself in check. Before I was doing it on Excel myself but I don’t have Excel skills so analyzing my spending was hard, and budgeting impossible! This form does all that for me. I won’t stop using it, that’s a promise!

Plus, who can beat the price!?

    :

I especially need a budget to keep my financial spending in order. I have tried phone apps with not much success and free budget templates provided by excel are “meh”. I came across this website and started using the free Basic Budget template, I was quite pleased and decided I would enjoy the more in-depth template to coordinate all my spending. I really enjoy using this product!

Thanks Janet for being so accommodating. 🙂

    :

I had been trying (with much frustration) to use the budget sheets supplied by excel. In order to do this, I had to download all banking / credit card info, categorize it, put it into a pivot table, copy it into the budget sheet and pray it balanced. It took hours, and very rarely worked on the first try. I avoided it like the plague, and when I did finally get around to it every 3-4 months it was an even bigger task……I decided there had to be another way. Janet’s sheet allows me and my husband to view our finances in a way that makes sense to each of us – me though charts and graphs, him through numbers.

I love that I can copy my data into the spreadsheet right from my banking downloads and once I categorize it I’m done. It always balances, and takes a third of the time my old budget does. As a word of caution, when you need to copy your banking / credit card data into the spreadsheet, you have to do it a column at a time (i.e. – copy your date column into the budget sheet, copy the expense name column, then the amount column). There are hidden columns in the budget spreadsheet with forumla’s and if you try to copy all your banking data in one go you’ll run into troubles. But once you know that – its very very user friendly.

Also, the support is incredible. Janet is extremely responsive to questions, even if its not directly related to her sheets. An extremely helpful tool, with amazing support. Absolutely worth the price!

    :

I have been using the Super Deluxe Budget for just over 6 months. I have been using budget software for many years, but by no means would I be considered tech savvy. I was frustrated because my former budget software was unable to do some of the work I needed, which means you spend more time doing additional work. (Who has time for that???) I searched and found the Super Deluxe Budget – I did not need to reinvent the wheel, Janet did that for me. It is very user friendly and intuitive. It gives a snapshot of where you are in any given month and also if you are on track for the year. The monthly fixed expenses is one of my favorite features; you do not need to enter those items repeatedly month after month.

Should you have questions, Janet is also very responsive. LOVE! this product!

    :

The spreadsheet is very easy to use and has a lot of great features. The possibility to categorize everything in categories and subcategories is great. I tried a few other spreadsheets but these had limited options, this spreadsheet is really worth the $15.

    :

This spreadsheet is amazing! I’ve been using it for almost a year now and I really love the simplicity and versatility of it. You don’t have to worry about “did I remember to put a transaction in?” because you can just check your balance and if it’s correct then you put it in, if not you’ve forgotten something! It’s a great way to make sure that you’re using your money the way you know you want to, or it’s a great way to steer your spending in the right direction, especially with the pie and bar charts on the review page. I 100% recommend this spreadsheet- it sooooo worth the $15!

In the years 2010 to 2012 I was using my own custom made spreadsheet to log my personnel income and expenses, with varying degree of accuracy. I was never satisfied with my spreadsheet as it never gave me an accurate picture of the same, and I was an MS Excel intermediate user and my skills with Excel programming with kind of low.

In year 2013 I decided to search for a professional spreadsheet to use. After a lot of search in internet, I came across Super Basic Budget from savvy spreadsheet and I tried it for 2 months. I found it engaging and it gave me accurate results. In order to gain full functionality, I purchased the deluxe version; Super Deluxe Budget; and have never regretted its purchase after use. The step by step instructions make it very easy to do the initial set-up and use of VB and macros in savvy spreadsheet is simply awesome.

Since 2013 all my personnel expenses, income and budget are logged in Super Deluxe Budget. Ms. Janet of Savvy spreadsheet also gave me a free upgrade to latest version as its version was updated. It gives me an accurate picture of my day to day, monthly, and yearly income, expenses and budget and helps me understand where my money is going, where I am over budget and also under budget (Thank God!). It tells me how my previous months went, and how my present month is going and what is left in the budget till year end, so I will know how much my savings can be at year end.

Only observation that I have for development team of Savvy Spreadsheet is to enable the spreadsheet to log cash payment, various bank account payment/transfers and various credit card payment separately so that they can also be monitored individually.

In spite of my observation, savvy spreadsheet is the best I have seen and I will be using it for a long long time.

    I am an American.
Privileged to work as much and as hard as I want, and earn as much as i can.
I’m also obligated to pay tax on all that I make.
So, once a year I see at a glance all that came in during the last twelve months.
But the 1040 doesn’t tell me how much I have left, or why I don’t have anything to show for all that hard work.
    Super Deluxe Budget spreadsheet does!
Now when I sit to do my April 15 reporting for the IRS, I can look over at SDB and know exactly where all that labor went.
And with some self-control over spending, next year at tax time I’ll have a big smile and a bigger savings account.
My new SDB financial planning motto: what is not inspected never results as you expected–if you don’t account for your spending, your earnings won’t add up.

Okay – so I’ve been shopping around online and have been looking at a plethora of different options when it comes to a budget. I wanted something that was robust but easy to use…the main key thing that I needed to be able to do was have a ledger that tracked what I spent. In my experience, if I have to manually enter information, I am prone to double think making purchases, instead of just swiping a card and then having the transaction appear in my budget app or whatever.

After a lot of R&D, I came across this. This system is perfect. Not only can I manage my budget, it also includes a ledgers for both income and expenses and automatically tracks everything. I have not seen anything even remotely close to this online and am so glad that I stumbled upon it. I will definitely be using this year after year to track my spending habits.

Customer service was also wonderful in helping me get the download squared away…extremely prompt and fast service. I highly recommend this.

Last year i built a spreadsheet for my wife to keep our budget, it took me a ton time. As time went on and I needed to adjust formulas and settings I would have to spend hours updating. So needless to say I was excited with the prospect of having a better one like the super deluxe budget we could use for $15.00. I bought it and the information does not save. We spent hours plugging in data and waiting for the slow sheet to respond before we made another entry. Three times we went through the process of data entry (saving our work as we went along) and overtime it would error out and save only bits of the hard work we put into it. Extremely frustrating…really bummed and hoped it would work. It doesn’t. Maybe we are doing something wrong. Ill update the review if I find out we are.

Hi Matt, I’m so sorry to hear that the Super Deluxe Budget has been giving you problems. Something definitely doesn’t sound right and I would love to be able to resolve it. Can you first let me know what version of Excel you are using so we can make sure it’s a compatible version? I’ve also emailed you directly so we can correspond that way and dig a little deeper. I hope to hear from you soon.

I retired a year and a half ago so we now live on a fixed income.
By using the Super Deluxe Budget spreadsheet I am able to understand where my money is going and where I have over budgeted and also under budgeted. Using this information I can move my expenses around to stay on budget . It tells you in a glimpse how your month is going so you know if you can afford that little extra or save it for next month.

Ms. Janet – your Super Deluxe Budget Spreadsheet is simply awesome. Your knowledge of Excel and VBA code is vastly impressive. Yours is the most comprehensive and practical budget on which these eyes have gazed. Great job! I also purchased one for my son and he is exceptionally pleased with it as well.

I was trying to create an almost identical spreadsheet when I discovered this one at such a good price and decided to save myself the trouble, it does all the things I wanted it to. I have been using it for a little over a year now and it is still going strong!

  21. 5 out of 5

    :

I have been using the Super Deluxe Budget, and I LOVE it! It’s the first budget I have found that has enough Categories/Sub-Categories to meet my needs. It’s easy to setup, as well as user friendly. I found the instructions easy to follow, and it’s working better than I hoped. I have made countless excel budgets and purchased others, but this is the first one I have been satisfied with. I like the spending allocations pie charts, as well as the detail of the annual summary. It’s a well thought-out product.

I had one small question with the software, and customer support got back with an answer on the same day. I would recommend this company and this product to anyone needing to track spending. It can be set up to be as simple or complex as you need.

    :

I have tried so many ways to establish a budget and keep track of it. Not until I found Savvy Spreadsheets did I find something that worked for me. And they back their product. All my questions are answered quickly and effectively. I’m ashamed to say how long it took me to get a workable budget. If not for Savvy, I’d still be “working on it”.

    :

I really appreciate your quick response in addressing my issue. Your budget spreadsheets have been excellent
tools in helping me sort out my expenses, and the “Deluxe” Version even more! SDB is definitely appropriately named: in that “SUPER” means it’s very easy to use; “DELUXE” means it has all the graphics, charts, tables, and summary sheet, that makes it easy to setup a budget; and “BUDGET” means you can track spending, set goals, and identify areas where expenses have gone awry. In essence, it is the tool of choice for anyone who wants to get (keep) their finances in order.

If it had a self-discipline feature, that would make it my ultimate. But I guess I’ll have to be responsible for that part. Although, if you can come up with a spreadsheet for that, definitely count me in!

    Many Thanks!

    :

First, I’ll start by saying this template is fantastic! It’s robust, but simple and really user friendly. The spreadsheet also looks great with tons of tips and help to guide you.

I had been using my own spreadsheet for a while, but it was no where near the quality of this one, and this is even easier to use. I’m very happy using Savvy’s budgeting spreadsheet now. It was well worth the money.

  27. 5 out of 5

    :

I looked at several budget spreadsheets online and am thrilled that I decided to get the Super Deluxe Budget. Many of the others were too complicated and more expensive. The Super Deluxe is straightforward, very easy to use and has great features.

I initially downloaded the free Super Basic version but quickly realized that I wanted to add my own subcategories. The Super Deluxe is well worth the price.

I’ve gone from dreading tracking my spending to looking forward to it and having a lot of fun in the process. I’ve gotten so many ideas on how to save – right off the bat I saw how to save over $1,000 per year. And that was just the beginning: using this spreadsheet has led to various other ideas on how to manage my money.

Also, very importantly, the email support that Savvy Spreadsheets provides for questions is outstanding – very prompt, helpful and friendly. This is definitely a company to do business with.

  28. 5 out of 5

    :

I had begun to using the super basic budget last month because one of our new year’s resolutions was to get some control of our spending in our household. Overall I liked how it worked but there wasn’t enough room to put in all of our monthly expenses which is why when the new product came out I jumped at the chance to buy it.

    What I like:

I can change when to start the year off on the first step of the budget so if the spread sheet was bought in March the year can run March 2013-2014. When I attempted to change the start month in the basic version I kept getting a circular reference error.

Subcategories. In the old budget you could only enter ten monthly expenses so that made me have to put all my utilities together and my auto expenses together, with this new budget I can separate them all out so I can budget for Gas, Water, Phone, etc.

Income tab. I normally underestimate my paychecks so I always end up with a surplus of money (better to underestimate than over) so whatever extra I get per paycheck I can add on here along with any other income I might make above and beyond my normal pay. Helps me see what my income to spending ratio really is in a month.

Expenses. I normally go into my check book every day and just put in what I spent but I like that if I forget a day that it doesn’t have to be in consecutive order.

Pie charts. Quick way to see where the majority of my spending is without having to drill down the monthly views, also it changes to each category when you click on them.

Monthly summary. At the top of each page shows me what I’ve spent and what I have available to spend still, makes it easy.

Monthly view. I like how it shows how over/under I am in each subcategory so I know, for example, towards the end of the month if I have an entertainment budget left.

What I would change if I could:

I’m a two income family; I’d like to be able to enter my paycheck and my husband’s paychecks separate. I also would like the chance to enter in the amounts on the day we get paid.

When I do spending it’s as I get the money in, not once a month, so being able to allocate funds from a bi-weekly paycheck would come in handy.

    In Summary:

It’s really the best budget spreadsheet out there and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a handy way to budget without a lot of work on the user end to use.

  29. 5 out of 5

    :

This is a great spreadsheet! I started out with the Basic Budget (which is the free version) and recently upgraded to the Super Deluxe version. For only $10 it is completely worth the upgrade. The ability to have subcategories makes my budgeting more efficient and my spending is much easier to keep track of!

Initially, I tried keeping a budget on a friend’s homemade Excel spreadsheet, but it wasn’t as simple and user-friendly as the Super Deluxe Budget. Because of the simplicity of the super deluxe version, I don’t mind sitting down to take care of my budget, where with my friend’s excel Spreadsheet I dreaded it. Highly recommend!! Think of the $10 as an investment in your financially responsible future! And $10 is certainly worth saving yourself the headache of trying to create your own budget from scratch!
